Introduction

It has been brought to my attention that there is a need for a place for little people, people with dwarfism, to learn more about extended limb lengthening from a patients perspective, so here goes. My name is Gillian and I am the first person in North America to complete all three stages of limb lengthening for dwarfism. This year actually marks twenty years since I began this process that would make me a foot taller and lengthen my arms as well. Science and medicine have long since passed me by and what patients today encounter is very different than what I experienced. Yet, I have remained involved in this issue for the past twenty years. Please feel free to post questions and more in the comments and I will do my best to answer them. In the coming weeks I will post on some of the more known and controversial issues surrounding this, including how ELL is viewed in the LP community. If there are specific topics you would like me to speak to, just let me know in the comments section. Thanks. Gillian.
